The information we collect

What we collect and why we need it

Lamba Bet is a gambling platform for players aged 18 and over. To open and use an account with us, we collect the information needed to provide our services and meet legal requirements relating to identity, age verification and the prevention of money laundering. This includes your name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, residential address and nationality.

When you register, we verify your age and carry out any applicable self-exclusion checks. Ireland's national self-exclusion register is still being set up, so self-exclusion is currently handled through operator arrangements and GamStop-style tools where available. Coverage varies, and these tools do not automatically cover every gambling site. Where a check is legally required, that obligation provides the legal basis for processing the relevant information.

We also process transaction information so that deposits and withdrawals can be handled safely, alongside technical information that helps keep the website reliable and secure. We follow the principle of data minimisation: we only collect information that is strictly necessary for the specific purpose for which it will be used, and nothing beyond that.

We also process information about your gambling activity, such as the amounts you stake and the length of your sessions, to support responsible gambling and identify possible signs of gambling-related harm at an early stage. Where appropriate, we also use this information to contact you about your gambling patterns and discuss the support available.

Account information

Your name, date of birth, contact details, residential address and nationality, used for verification and regulatory compliance.

Financial information

Bank account, card or digital wallet information, used solely to carry out transactions and held securely in encrypted storage.

Technical information

Your IP address, browser, operating system and pages visited. For further details, see our cookie policy.
Retention periods and security

How long we keep information and how we protect it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed, protecting it with appropriate technical safeguards and organisational security measures.

256-bit SSL

All transfers of information between your device and our servers are encrypted throughout the connection to protect data in transit.

Encrypted storage

Financial information and identifying details are held in secure databases, with access restricted according to each employee's role.

Independent security audits

Regular penetration testing by independent security specialists, alongside internal reviews of access permissions and security controls.

Your privacy rights

Request an overview of all the personal information we hold about you, together with details of how we use that information.

Right to rectification

Ask us to correct inaccurate information or complete missing personal details whenever an update is needed.

Right to erasure

Ask for information to be deleted when it is no longer necessary or you withdraw consent, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

Right to data portability

Receive the information you have supplied to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where this right applies.

Further information

Your information, your rights and our responsibilities

Does Lamba Bet share or sell personal information to third parties?

We never sell personal information, in any form or to any organisation. We only share it where this is necessary to provide the service or where the law requires us to do so. In practical terms, this includes payment processors handling a deposit or withdrawal, providers carrying out identity and age verification, hosting partners managing the servers and game suppliers providing the technology needed for a gaming session. We enter into appropriate data processing agreements with organisations acting as our processors, setting out what they may do with the information and how long they may retain it. We also share information with regulatory authorities, such as the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI), where applicable legal obligations relating to gambling supervision or the prevention of money laundering require this disclosure.

How can you request access, correction or deletion of your information?

Send a message to privacy@lambabet.live from the email address linked to your account and briefly explain what you would like to know or have changed. We normally respond within one month, and often sooner. If a permitted extension is needed for a complex request, we will explain the reason and timescale. To prevent somebody else from obtaining your information, we may ask you to provide additional confirmation of your identity. For an access request, you will receive an overview of the information we process about you, where it came from and the organisations with which it has been shared. For a deletion request, we erase information that we no longer have a lawful reason or obligation to retain. If you disagree with the outcome, you can lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission.

How long is information kept after you close your account?

Closing an account does not mean that every record disappears immediately. Financial record-keeping and Irish anti-money laundering requirements can require certain information to be retained after a business relationship ends or a transaction is completed. Depending on the type of record and the applicable law, a period of five or six years may apply, with the starting point determined by the relevant obligation. This can cover transaction records, verification documents and related correspondence. We delete or anonymise information outside those requirements, such as marketing preferences, support chat history and behavioural data used for personalised recommendations, once it no longer serves its purpose. Ireland's national self-exclusion register is still being established. Records held by a separate GamStop-style self-exclusion service are governed by that service's own retention policy, while operator self-exclusion records are retained as needed to maintain the exclusion.

What checks do you carry out before someone can gamble?

Before you first gamble, we check that you are at least 18 years old and that your identity matches the information you have provided. We therefore ask for valid identification and sometimes an additional document, such as proof of your residential address. We also apply the self-exclusion checks available through relevant operator arrangements and any participating GamStop-style tools. Ireland's national self-exclusion register is still being set up, and participation in external tools varies, so no single tool should be assumed to block every gambling website. Larger transactions may lead to a source-of-funds check under applicable anti-money laundering rules. If our systems identify gambling patterns that suggest harm, we contact you and explain the available limits and support options. Independent support is available from Gambling Care on 1800 936 725 at www.gamblingcare.ie, as well as Gamblers Anonymous Ireland.

How is your information protected technically?

All traffic between your device and our servers travels over an encrypted connection, so that third parties cannot read the information while it is in transit. We never store passwords in readable form, but only as a one-way cryptographic hash. Access to player information within our organisation is restricted to employees who need it to carry out their work, and that access is logged and reviewed regularly. We do not process payment credentials ourselves: they are sent directly to the payment provider, which holds the appropriate certification for handling them. We recommend choosing a unique password that you do not use for any other service and enabling two-step verification as soon as that option becomes available in your account. If you suspect that somebody else has gained access to your account, change your password immediately and contact customer service so that we can end active sessions, review the account activity and help you secure your information.
